Baseball Field Products

Outback Materials started supplying field products to local schools in the Central Valley in the fall of 2007, because there was no one else supplying the range of products needed to build baseball and softball fields in the local market. We carry Diamond Pro, Hilltopper and Stabilizer product lines and have been involved in the installation and supply of material for a number of local high schools and Little Leagues. This year we are proud to have supplied the infield mix to Fresno State Baseball and Softball programs at Beiden Field and Bulldog Diamond (GO DAWGS!!!) and to the Fresno Grizzlies Chukchansi Park.

Infield Mix: An engineered mix of clay, soil, sand, stabilizer and cinder provides a professional foundation for the infield. This mix holds water, keeps dust down, provides consistent hops, is flexible enough to create a hard or soft infield and it looks great!! Hilltopper Mound Clay: We’ve been asked for this product by name, so we started carrying it. Whether on your own backyard mound or at the school, don’t waste your time and effort rebuilding your mound after every pitching session save your time, money and your back by using the right products.

Infield Conditioner: a vitrified clay applied to skinned areas of baseball and softball fields. This product is fired to 2000 F in a rotary kiln to produce a premium ceramic product. The infield conditioner is available in bulk or bag and in gray, red or dark red.

Drying Agent: a calcined clay used to quick dry puddles and muddy conditions. It will not stick to cleats and is easily incorporated into the infield.

 Top Dressing: a calcined clay product used on the skinned areas of baseball and softball fields to improve drainage. It will not stick to cleats and is easily incorporated into the infield.

Home Plate and Mound Clay: A screened clay loam with a rich red color easily tamps into holes providing greater durability and less maintenance. Can be used to construct, rebuild or repair pitchers mounds, catcher’s and batter’s boxes.

Clay Bricks: unfired, compressed clay bricks, perfect for building or repairing high stress areas. The bricks, when watered in, simply turn to firm clay to provide durability and reduced maintenance in these areas. Can be used to construct, rebuild or repair pitchers mounds, catcher’s and batter’s boxes.
